**The Role**:
This is a broad marketing and communications managerial position, encompassing brand, communications, public relations, digital and social media, advertising, sponsorship and events.
This position will lift the profile of the organisation, inform its members, strengthen relationships with relevant industry and community stakeholders and contribute to the way we engage with our communities. You will support external and internal communications, media management, build social media schedules and produce content for the association's channels.
Specifics:
- Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that align with the organisation's goals, mission, and vision.
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to attract new members and retain existing members.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support the delivery of the organisation's marketing and communication objectives.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar that supports the delivery of the organisation's marketing and communication objectives.
- Develop and implement measurement and evaluation systems to track the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with other departments within the organisation to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all touchpoints.
- Manage external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and effective delivery of marketing and communication projects.
**Other responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain productive communications to assist the team meet objectives
- Assist other departments with their marketing requirements and promote a professional and service orientated Marketing & Communications team
- Foster a positive relationship that promotes the associations' brand and supports their work
- Support the effective relationship with vendors to deliver project outcomes from campaigns
- Maintain project timelines, progress and report on any variances as soon as identified to the project manager and/or team
- Regular and ad-hoc reporting include statistics from digital, website, CRM, PR social and general marketing and communication campaigns and activities
- Collaborate with the broader team to deliver on objectives and promote the effectiveness of the team
- Assist with sourcing, purchase, storage, auditing and delivery of a range of marketing collateral and assets such as merchandising, print runs, etc.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal staff
**About you**:
We are seeking a junior level communications professional (two years' experience) with a passion for communications and marketing. Ideally, you'll be a qualified communications expert with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You'll be a people's person and approach work with a can-do attitude!
You'll need:
- 5+ years experience in a similar role or a senior comms professional, ready to step up
- Able to use various media channels to deliver content and campaigns
- Able to source marketing collateral
- Being a team player with a "can do" attitude
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Experienced in managing projects with multiple stakeholders
- High level of organisational skills
- Flexible, adaptable and happy to help wherever required
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience in government (state or local) settings
- Creative experience in design, photography and/or video production
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
