The Administrative Officer position within our **Parks and Active Communities Unit** will provide administrative and project support, and requires a high level of customer service. You'll be part of a fast paced, hardworking team and will need to balance competing priorities.

We seek an individual with well-developed written and oral communication and analytical skills, along with an ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.

The position requires attention to detail, flexibility, and excellent communication skills in order to build strong relationships and to collaborate with stakeholders. **About the role**:

- provides high level administrative support to the Parks and Active Communities Unit
- provides project support to the Unit enabling the implementation of its activities, programs, projects and events
- prepares general correspondence, letters, minutes, reports and manages data
- provides quality customer service and answering and directing incoming calls from our customers
- works with stakeholders including members of project and advisory committees, the general public, volunteers and contractors in an administrative capacity.

**We are seeking**:

- previous administration experience and a high level of competence in general administrative and clerical tasks
- a self-motivated individual with excellent time management skills, reliability and attention to detail who can work autonomously
- an individual who values team work and has the ability to share knowledge and support others
- good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and quality customer service
- extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite and corporate information systems.

Essential:
1. Minimum Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent and proven experience in a business administrative role and ability to provide best practice administrative support.
2. Demonstrate high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and corporate information systems.
3. Excellent written communication skills, attention to detail and able to prepare meeting documents, reports and keep and manage records.
4. Demonstrated well developed interpersonal skills required to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve high-quality customer service.
5. Demonstrated problem solving skills, ability to use initiative and work autonomously.
6. Demonstrated experience in operating effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and being a reliable team member.
7. Demonstrated organisation and time management skills and capacity to work in a busy environment, complete work to agreed deadlines and effectively balance competing and changing priorities.
