Why your role is important? This role plays a critical part in ensuring the Library's services and operations are well understood, well governed and continuously improving. By gathering information through data, research and engagement with staff, the Senior Specialist, Quality Management provides the evidence needed to monitor performance, meet governance requirements and support informed decision-making. Over the fixed-term period, the role helps strengthen quality management frameworks and embeds a more consistent, data-driven approach to understanding how services operate and where improvements can be made, supporting both day-to-day effectiveness and longer-term service quality. This is a key role within the Operations and Quality department, supporting the effective coordination of quality assurance, governance and operational performance across the Library. Working closely with the Operations and Quality Manager, the role connects data, systems and people across functions such as finance, HR, records management, risk and service delivery. By gathering, analysing and reporting on key operational and service information, the role helps the department maintain strong governance, meet compliance requirements and enable continuous improvement, ensuring the Library's operations are well supported and aligned with institutional priorities. If successful in applying for this role, your key responsibilities will be:
• Work independently to optimise service provision by applying expertise to solve complex problems
• Proactively contribute to and/or manage projects involving changes related to Library functions which may impact on other areas of the institution
• Apply detailed knowledge of Library and University policy, processes and systems and the interrelationships operating within the University to assist in supporting projects, managing team responsibilities and general Library function.
• Actively build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to work effectively across multi-disciplinary projects to enhance and improve the Library's service provision to clients
• Optimise the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of data analytics/visualisation (or other quality management tools) to ensure reporting on Library functions and client satisfaction is accurate and high quality
• Monitor and measure operational functions of the Library (including human resources, finance, workspace management, records management, WHS and risk management) to ensure unit compliance with UTS governance
• Deputise for supervisor as required With examples, please outline in a separate document (maximum 2 pages), how you meet the following key selection criteria: 1. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills that enable effective engagement, collaboration and partnership building with internal and external stakeholders in both face-to-face and online environments.2. Demonstrated contribution to major projects, working effectively under pressure, balancing multiple priorities to ensure Library and University goals are met, timelines are realised, and outcomes are delivered.3. Extensive experience contributing to a positive team environment and working collaboratively and independently to achieve department and Library goals4. Demonstrated experience and understanding in analysing large datasets and delivering key information using data visualisation tools for continuous improvement5. Understanding and experience in administration and quality assurance, preferably within the Higher Education sector Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $107,402 - $118,813 pa (HEW 7) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary. This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis from March 2026 to January 2027.
