Food Buds is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Bathurst. This role is ideal for a creative professional with strong cooking expertise and knowledge of Thai cuisine. The position will work closely with the management to run the operational requirements of a commercial kitchen. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities
* Menu planning as per customer demand and market requirements within the company budget in liaison with the management.
* Prepare and cook dishes according to the menu and standardized recipes
* Liaise with Managers and kitchen staff regarding food preparation and operations
* Create and introduce new dishes and specials
* Monitor food rotation, manage stocktake, and maintain kitchen equipment
* Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
* Discussing food preparation issues with Managers and Kitchen staff.
* Contribute to the development of a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
* Oversee food preparation, ensuring freshness and adherence to food safety standards (HACCP)
* Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen
About You
* At least a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, preferrable.
* Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen.
* Genuine passion for Thai cooking and creativity
* Strong understanding of Australian food safety standards and HACCP
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
* Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
