About Us
Buildsafe is an innovative leader in the building and construction space, providing height safety systems and scaffolding solutions across Australia. Our growth and success are driven by our people; the crews, leaders, and teams who show up every day to get the job done safely and professionally.
With operations across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, Buildsafe is a fast-paced, values-driven business that prides itself on doing things properly. We invest in our people, support their development, and believe strong capability on site leads to better outcomes for everyone.
About the Role
At its heart, this role exists to care for, support, and develop our people in the field. We're looking for someone who naturally nurtures others, takes ownership of their growth, and genuinely wants to see our men and women succeed; on site and beyond.
Join our expanding team as People & Capability Coach and take the lead in driving learning and development across Buildsafe. Reporting to the National Safety & Compliance Manager, this role is about building genuine capability, not just ticking compliance boxes. You will collaborate with operational teams, leaders, and subject-matter experts to transform hands-on experience into practical learning that delivers real results on-site.
This is a highly visible, on-the-ground role where you'll build trust with our crews and installers, support leaders in the field, and help grow people technically, professionally, and personally.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Owning learning and development nationally — this is your space to build
* Designing and delivering practical training across:
o Technical skills and job execution
o Health, wellbeing, and resilience
o Growth pathways, leadership, and career progression
* Acting as a trusted mentor for field crews and branch leaders
* Partner with internal experts to turn experience into structured, practical learning
* Delivering training face-to-face, on site, and toolbox-style
* Building and running our internal Learning Management System (LMS)
* Ensuring learning aligns with safety, compliance, and real operational needs
About You
You're someone who is hands-on and approachable, you connect easily with operational teams, communicate clearly, build trust quickly, and care genuinely about supporting people to grow and succeed.
You'll also bring:
* Experience designing and delivering learning or development programs
* Strong exposure to blue-collar, construction, or operational environments
* Confidence delivering training face-to-face and in the field
* The ability to translate safety, compliance, and business needs into practical learning
* Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
* A practical mindset with solid IT literacy
Highly regarded:
* TAE or VET qualifications
* Experience managing or owning an LMS
* Construction, trades, or similar industry background
* Experience working with RTOs or accredited training pathways
What's In It For You
* Permanent full-time role based at our Arundel office
* A role with real ownership and impact
* On-the-ground, meaningful work — not desk-bound L&D
* State based travel from Northern Rivers to Hervey Bay
* Monthly lunches and regular team events
* Employee Assistance Program
* Corporate uniforms provided
* Annual performance reviews to ensure you're supported, recognised, and progressing
* Access to discounted gym membership through Fitness Passport
If you're someone who shows up, builds trust, and genuinely wants to see people succeed, we'd love to hear from you.
