Offer description

About the role

Sitting at the core of the Owner's project delivery team; TasNetworks are seeking a seasoned professional Project Services Manager with deep experience on major, complex capital projects. You will set the controls framework, lead high-performing project controls teams, and provide the insight that keeps multi-billion-dollar programs on track.

This role is accountable for maintaining control, transparency, and discipline during active construction—providing the independent insight and assurance required to manage risk, protect value, and support timely decision-making. Working alongside construction, commercial, and contract management teams, you will oversee the project control environment, interrogate contractor data, and ensure cost, schedule, and change performance remain aligned with approved baselines and governance expectations.

What you'll do

* Lead the Owner's construction-phase project services function, integrating scope, cost, schedule, risk, and change control across active works
* Deliver clear, data-driven insights that enable confident executive decision-making
* Establish, maintain, and defend construction baselines, including management of progress measurement, earned value, and forecast-at-completion.
* Oversee change, claims, and variation controls, ensuring impacts are rigorously assessed, transparently reported, and aligned with contract and governance requirements
* Interrogate and assure EPC contractor schedules, cost reports, risk registers, and forecasts, challenging assumptions and identifying trends
* Provide independent analysis and early-warning insights on cost, schedule, productivity, and emerging risks during construction
* Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team of schedulers, cost controllers, and information managers
* Drive governance, reporting, and performance assurance across all workstreams
* Develop and continuously improve project controls methodologies, systems, and tools

About you

To succeed, you will bring extensive senior-level experience in project controls leadership on major infrastructure or complex capital projects ($500m +) - large-scale experience is essential.

You will have deep technical expertise across cost, schedule, risk, and performance management, supported by strong analytical capability and hands-on knowledge of tools such as Primavera P6, EVM, cost and risk systems.

Just as important is your ability to influence senior stakeholders, collaborate across delivery partners, and resolve issues in complex and politically sensitive environments.

You'll also bring -

* A track record of building controls frameworks and teams from the ground up
* Exceptional communication skills - you turn complex data into decisive action
