Senior Cultural Heritage Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cultural Heritage Specialist to play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations align with cultural heritage legislation, ethical standards and best practice engagement with Traditional Owners and Indigenous communities.
The successful candidate will lead field assessments, manage stakeholder relationships and contribute to strategic planning across major infrastructure and resource projects.

* Coordinate and conduct in-field cultural heritage assessments, surveys and mitigation strategies across different project sites to ensure work is undertaken safely and in line with work schedules and programs.
* Prepare and support cultural heritage assessments and reporting using GIS data and systems.
* Develop and record cultural heritage approvals.
* Maintain strong working relationships with cultural heritage officers, coordinators, native title applicants and internal teams.
* Review, understand and implement Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs), reports and permit applications.
* Influence outcomes of cultural heritage assessments in line with Cultural Heritage Management Plans.
* Negotiate agreement on redesign of development layouts around identified Cultural Heritage (as appropriate).
* Provide expert advice to project teams on cultural heritage risks, constraints and opportunities.
Requirements:
* Valid Qld Drivers licence.
* Understanding of Cultural Heritage, relevant legislation and groups across the area.
* Ability to influence, make, articulate and justify decisions and negotiate outcomes.
* Ability to identify cultural heritage and knowledge of/understanding of cultural heritage practices in the area.
* Demonstrated experience working with Traditional Owner groups / representatives.
* Proficiency with GIS programs such as Arc Pro, collector and spatial data interpretation.
* Previous experience in cultural heritage management or identification and preservation of cultural heritage preferably within infrastructure, mining, energy or government sectors.
* Willingness to travel and stay overnight in Origin camps/Motels.
* First Aid certification and remote field work safety training.
