About the Role
We are seeking an experienced senior executive with considerable leadership and engagement skills developed in the delivery of significant, complex infrastructure projects. The Head of Projects leads, directs and oversees projects and precincts from development, planning, approval, construction to the commencement of services. This includes commercial, delivery and finance matters across multiple infrastructure sectors.
This is a strategic role that is also very hands on in terms of issues management and capability development of the multidisciplinary team. The Head of Projects develops strategic relationships and engagement across the NSW Public Sector, delivery partners, broader industry groups, regulators, and the community to identify and manage issues and risks associated with project delivery.
The role forms part of INSWs executive leadership team and provides expert advice and strategic leadership to sustain the organisation as a high performing, integrated team, contributing to the positive organisational culture.
Some of the key accountabilities for the role include:
1. Overseeing a wide and disparate range of projects across INSW to ensure strategy, project planning, approval, budget, and delivery are in line with government and INSW requirements and are managed according to briefs and agreements.
2. Strategically directing the planning of multiple projects, establishing and maintaining project management, governance, risk, project finance and reporting frameworks to drive and facilitate project delivery.
3. Establishing and driving effective stakeholder relationships to facilitate preparation of project briefs, planning and delivery of projects to achieve continuous improvement in outcomes in accordance with authorisation orders, consents, and statutory requirements.
4. Building strategic relationships and engage with relevant NSW public sector, broader industry groups, regulators, and the community to identify and manage issues and risks associated with project delivery.
About You
With a background showcasing demonstrated leadership in project management, especially within expansive infrastructure settings, the ideal candidate possesses robust strategic thinking, problem-solving acumen, and effective communication skills. Your proven ability to cultivate and sustain impactful stakeholder relationships is a testament to their expertise. Additionally, you should hold relevant tertiary qualifications and possess equivalent experience in successful execution of major infrastructure projects, whether in the public or private sectors.
