Opportunity for an experienced Mining Site Survey Supervisor to work on a landmark APAC 'mega project' at the greenfield stage. This role offers the chance to be involved before production begins and to take ownership of all site survey activities.
The position involves working on an expat FIFO basis from any global location of hire. The Survey Supervisor will oversee all surveying operations, ensure data accuracy, lead survey teams, and manage modern survey technologies, including drone-based surveying and data post-processing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Survey Operations and Management: Supervise survey teams, plan tasks aligned with project schedules, validate survey data for accuracy and compliance.
2. Drone Surveying and Technology Integration: Operate drones for aerial surveys, conduct data collection, and post-process data for analysis and reporting.
3. Technical Expertise: Interpret engineering drawings, maintain survey instruments, and ensure data quality.
4. Leadership and Team Supervision: Train staff, assign tasks, monitor performance, and foster a collaborative environment.
5. Collaboration and Communication: Work with project teams, resolve discrepancies, and communicate findings effectively.
6. Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management: Enforce safety protocols, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate risks.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records, prepare reports, and update management on progress.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field (preferred).
* Minimum 10 years in surveying, with 2+ years in supervision.
Certifications
* Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or equivalent (preferred).
* Certified Drone Pilot license (e.g., FAA Part 107 or equivalent).
Technical Skills
* Proficiency in survey software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), drone mapping tools, and post-processing software (Global Mapper, Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape).
Soft Skills
* Leadership, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Work Environment
* Primarily on-site at construction locations, with office work for data analysis and reporting. Outdoor work in varying weather conditions is required.
