Senior SAP S/4HANA Integration Engineer – Canberra
We're seeking up to 3 Senior SAP S/4HANA Integration Engineers to support a major SAP modernisation program within a Federal Government environment.
This is a high‐impact role working on the transition from SAP ECC6 to S/4HANA, delivering secure, scalable integration solutions across a multi‐agency landscape.
The Opportunity
You'll play a key role in designing and delivering enterprise‐grade integrations using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), supporting critical government systems and services.
Working within a large shared services environment, you'll help enable secure connectivity between SAP and non‐SAP platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement integration solutions using SAP BTP Integration Suite
* Develop integrations across:
* SAP ECC6 and S/4HANA
* Other SAP and non‐SAP systems
* Apply API‐first and event‐driven integration patterns
* Build reusable integration services and APIs
* Configure and develop integration flows (CPI, API Management, Event Mesh)
* Implement message transformation, routing, and error handling
* Ensure integrations meet enterprise security, governance, and architecture standards
* Support go‐live, cutover, and transition activities
* Contribute to documentation, standards, and internal capability uplift
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite:
* Cloud Integration (CPI)
* API Management
* Event Mesh / messaging services
* Proven experience integrating SAP ECC6 and/or S/4HANA
* Strong understanding of:
* REST & SOAP APIs
* JSON / XML
* Event‐driven and asynchronous patterns
* Experience implementing secure integrations:
* OAuth
* Mutual TLS
* Certificate‐based authentication
* Strong integration design and problem‐solving capability
