The Role
We're seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to work in our Public Law team based in Canberra. This high-volume litigation practice represents key Government clients. Responsibilities include:
* Opening and closing files;
* Completing client billing and reports;
* Answering phone calls and assisting with matter enquiries;
* Scheduling appointments, court events and diary management;
* Preparation and reconciliation of expenses;
* Organising events and functions;
* Other administrative support required by solicitors.
Key Requirements
You will have:
* A professional approach and excellent organisational and communication skills;
* A client service focus;
* Proficiency in Word and Excel;
* Capabilities in PowerPoint;
* The ability to prioritise tasks, display initiative, and have good attention to detail;
* A proven history of meeting deadlines;
* A 'can do' attitude.
