About Central Gippsland Health
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
About Department
The Environmental Service Department is responsible for providing many and varied service to all areas of Central Gippsland Health.
Service include all aspects of housekeeping/cleaning and supporting a safe and secure environment for patient, visitors and staff.
About the Role
The purpose of an Environmental Services Assistant position is to:
Undertake the provision of a clean and safe environment patients, staff and visitors to CGH
Undertake task to reliably and safety maintain high standards in quality of care and service throughout CGH facilities.
Practice, observe and comply with all applicable standards.
Duties
Provision of safe and timely Environmental Services within the health service including but not limited to cleaning and housekeeping, making of beds, change and removal of linen, and any other domestic services related activity as required by the Environmental Services Team Leader.
Undertake spot cleaning as identified and required by the clinical leaders and Environmental Services Team Leader.
Undertake cleaning of various areas in CGH facilities and equipment & instruments in the health service as nominated by the Environmental Services Team Leader.
Ensure all chemicals utilised when providing environmental services is in appropriate dilution rates and its intended use.
Undertake all task in accordance with the infection control standards, cleaning standards and schedules, and organisational regulations, policies and procedures.
