We are currently seeking dedicated casual teachers to join our Enabling Program teaching team. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching in helping students build up their academic skills and capacity for tertiary studies and contributing to the supportive and inclusive learning environment that UCC prides itself on. **Teaching experience in TAFE, RTOs, or high school environments is highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of adult learning theory and principles to effectively engage and support learners in an enabling program.**
This is an **onsite** role based in **Ulladulla, NSW, Australia.** Given the casual nature of this position, the working hours and patterns may vary weekly. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia, as this role does not offer sponsorship for visas.
**Primary responsibilities**:
- Under the instruction of the Unit Convenor and/or Program Co-ordinator, prepare and deliver face-to-face teaching and learning activities.
- Consultation with students if needed.
- Follow up and report non-attenders and students at risk of failing the course.
- Marking assessments when required, entering grades on the relevant systems, and providing constructive and detailed feedback to students
- Monitor Canvas (Learning management system) activities
- Record keeping maintaining grade book in Canvas
- Maintain accurate attendance in Canvas for student monitoring purposes
- Supervision of assessment activities
- Attend moderation meetings when required
- Attendance at College staff meetings as required
- General administration associated with the activity undertaken
- Other tasks relating to the role as required.
**Qualifications**:
**Essential selection criteria**:
- A minimum of a diploma qualification with demonstrated extensive experience in an education setting.
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills and the ability to work with a small team of teachers remotely.
- Demonstrated understanding of student equity and access, including the ability to identify and address barriers to ensure equitable opportunities for all students.
- Experience in working with students of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness.
- Demonstrated skills in electronic information management.
- Must hold a Working with Children Check (WWCC) registration.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to principles of equity and health and safety in the workplace.
**Desirable selection criteria**:
- Understanding of the TESQA framework (if relevant)
- Developed strategies for engaging students in pathway programs
- Experience in TAFE, RTOs, tertiary and/or high school education environment
- Experience in teaching mixed academic skill level students
- Track record in professional development
