This is an ongoing VPS4 role reporting to a Manager. As a policy expert, our advice supports the government to achieve its target of net zero emissions by 2045 and renewable energy of 65% by 2030 and 95 per cent by 2035.
The Department provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the government deliver its policies. We strive for excellence in financial and economic management to improve the lives of all Victorians.
The Economic Division leads the development of advice to the government and implementation of priority projects for key economic and policy priorities including economic strategy, regulatory reform, housing, social policy, government tax policy and intergovernmental financial relations to drive improvements in Victoria's productive and efficient resource allocation, competitiveness and equity across the economy.
The Environment, Resources & Decarbonisation team supports the government's agenda and provides authoritative and timely policy advice to ministers and senior management on energy, environment, climate change and natural resources issues. Key Accountabilities
* Use expertise in economics and/or public policy to provide timely, accurate, accessible and fit-for-purpose advice on complex economic, financial and/or public policy issues;
* Analyse, interpret and synthesise information, including quantitative data sets;
* Contribute to and manage projects to inform policy development;
* Communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders;
* Collaborate within and outside the team on economic, financial and/or public policy projects; and
* Contribute to fostering a positive team culture and participate in planning and decision-making in the Group.
