Overview
Sydney Water has partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver design, construct, maintenance and facilities management services as part of the P4S program in Sydney Water's Southern Region of Sydney. D4C is a consortium comprising John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. This partnership creates long‐term employment opportunities to diversify the skills in the southern region and to open pathways to the water industry.
D4C is seeking a Construction Supervisor to join their expanding team and deliver excellence in a range of works across the Southern Region. The role is integral to the project team, owning the outcome for construction delivery. The focus will be on Reservoir upgrades within the Network across the southern region, leading a program of works over a 6‐year project.
We are looking for someone with a can‐do, positive attitude, who is consultative and able to get things done.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the work and performance of multiple teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
- Oversee roof replacement and structural steel rectification/replacement.
- Conduct coatings repairs and recoating as necessary.
- Replace or repair walkways and handrails.
- Supervise and plan tower and mobile crane operations.
- Supervise both subcontractor and in‐house workforce.
- Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety, and environment management.
- Complete progress reporting, activities reports for shift handovers, and consistent regular reporting to the Construction Lead.
- Ensure compliance of commercial and financial costs, including budgets and the implications of directions within your authority limits.
- Read and understand plans, review design documentation, read drawings, and provide constructive review and implementation of final designs.
- Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to building a risk management culture.
- Plan and procure appropriate resources to fulfill project requirements.
- Manage access and movement of materials, plant and equipment to and within the site and work area in a safe and cost‐efficient manner.
- Provide positive leadership to ensure the quality and standard of workmanship performed is in accordance with the specifications and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Hold and Witness Points.
- Maintain diary records of actual progress including issues and usage.
- Maintain effective consultation with various stakeholders, referring major issues to the Construction Lead.
- Perform all duties in accordance with D4C and Sydney Water policies, processes, systems and procedures.
Qualifications
- Trade Qualification or similar.
- Substantial industry experience.
- Technical competency and understanding in area of expertise.
- People and Performance Management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
- Demonstrated leadership in health, safety and environmental management.
- Current Drivers licence.
- White card.
