The Role
The Aboriginal Private Rental Assistance Program (APRAP) Plus Worker role sits within the Family Services Team in the Homelessness Programs. The APRAP Plus Worker will provide outreach services for households living in or entering private rental tenancies. The APRAP position works alongside the APRAP broker to provide additional support to households to establish or maintain their housing.
APRAP Plus is designed to:
* Provide time-limited outreach to support tenancies
* Address issues contributing to the risk of tenancy breakdown
* Achieve outcomes leading to successful, sustainable private rental tenancies
* Reduce preventable exits from private rental
APRAP Plus is primarily an outreach position, working mainly with clients in their communities. While it works alongside the Private Rental Broker, it is not primarily an office-based role and does not assist communities already supported by other housing programs.
