We currently have an exciting opportunity to work within our Dog Services team to contribute to the Guide Dog Mobility program in Adelaide, South Australia, one of the world's most liveable cities!

About the role

The Guide Dog Mobility Instructor is responsible for the competent, professional assessment and delivery of guide dog mobility services to clients with a vision loss. The role works in partnership with the Guide Dog Services team to evaluate and match guide dog stock with clients. In addition, this position may provide services on assistance dog programs.

Key responsibilities include:

* Provide client assessments to determine the suitability for a guide dog or assistance dog.
* Work in partnership with the Guide Dog Services team to select and train dogs and match with clients.
* Provide assessment and instruction to clients as required.
* Prepare written assessments, reports and statistical data as required.
* Ensure data is captured and entered into the relevant database.
* Prepare information and resources and present education session for other agencies, professional groups, carers, families and others as required.
* Train and provide information to volunteers as required.
* Initiate and be actively involved in continuous improvement activities.
* Seek learning opportunities to develop and maintain own professional development.
* Work within the Guide Dogs SA/NT Risk Management Framework.

About you:

Essential to this role is an internationally recognised Guide Dog Mobility Instructor qualification. Recently qualified or experienced candidates are both welcome to apply, with mentorship and development opportunities available.

To assist in the work of Guide Dogs SA/NT you will need to be highly self-motivated with the ability to establish credibility and gain the confidence of a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate technical capability and experience as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor as well as advanced time management skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

A current Driver's License and relevant Employment Clearances will be required.
