John Holland is a leader in Australia's infrastructure sector. We are seeking an astute and diligent RIW Coordinator to support the Safety Team for the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project, which is reshaping Australia's freight network.
The RIW Coordinator will manage the Rail Industry Worker (RIW) programme, ensuring compliance and workforce safety. Your role is crucial in maintaining project integrity and supporting a significant infrastructure development.
Project Description
Inland Rail connects Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, NSW, and Queensland, creating a 1,700km freight backbone. The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project involves adjustments to track alignments, new road overbridges, and station modifications for double-stack freight trains, spanning approximately 305 km.
Responsibilities
Oversee the Rail Industry Worker (RIW) programme for all subcontractor personnel, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Manage subcontractor RIW compliance during onboarding.
Maintain accurate training, competency, and medical records for rail workers.
Coordinate with project teams and integrate RIW requirements with site activities.
Engage with stakeholders, including training providers, contractors, and authorities.
Uphold safety and quality commitments, adhering to policies and regulations.
Monitor and report on RIW compliance, ensuring workers are qualified and fit for duty.
Support a safety-focused culture emphasizing teamwork, innovation, and proficiency.
Qualifications
Experience in coordinating or administering RIW programmes.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Proficiency in project management software and IT.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Adaptability to project changes and rail environment challenges.
Current driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites.
