About the role
As Disability Support Worker you will provide person-centred care to support our complex clients with various aspects of their daily living.
Duties
* Assist individuals with disabilities in their daily routines, it may require high level of manual handling including tasks related to mobility, housekeeping, personal hygiene, medication administration, and preparing meals.
* Work with individuals and their families to reach agreements on the type and level of care required.
* Provide emotional guidance and help in managing issues such as depression, confusion, and grief.
* Organize and encourage participation in community social events tailored to individuals with disabilities.
* Support people with disabilities in accessing various disability-related services.
* Address and manage potential risks or emergencies in a home care setting, ensuring a safe environment for the individual.
Skills and experience required:
* A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support (essential)
* Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
* Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
* Proficiency in use of technology such as smart phones, email and internet
Salary Package
$65,000 - $75, 000 plus Superannuation per annum.
