HVAC Electrician Role Overview
As an HVAC electrician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Your primary responsibilities will include installing, servicing, and maintaining electrical systems for HVAC equipment such as packaged units, split-ducted systems, and DX plants.
Key Responsibilities:
* Connect HVAC systems to power sources, control panels, and building automation systems.
* Install electrical wiring for HVAC units, including chillers, heat pumps, VRV/VRF systems, and splits.
* Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
* Replace or repair electrical components such as relays, contractors, fuses, and motors.
* Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in HVAC equipment.
* Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
* Strong technical knowledge of DX plants, commercial AC units, and controls.
* Experience in troubleshooting, servicing, and preventive maintenance.
* Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
* A strong work ethic, with reliability and punctuality being essential.
* The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications & Licenses:
* Certificate or diploma in a related trade (or an equivalent trade qualification).
* Acceptable Occupation License.
* Current and valid Driver's License.
* Minimum one year of hands-on experience in fault-finding and maintenance.
