As a seasoned legal professional, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and the Research Portfolio at the University of Sydney's Office of General Counsel. Your key responsibility will be to provide timely, practical, and clear legal advice to facilitate the progression of research and commercialization activities.
Key objectives include:
* Navigating complexity to empower decision makers with confidence in pursuing the University's objectives and strategy
* Providing strategic legal advice to support the Research Portfolio's activities
* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements for research collaborations, funding agreements, clinical trials, data transfer, and professional services
* Managing external legal services as required
* Contributing to other legal work, projects, and initiatives as part of the broader remit of the IP, Research and Commercial Law team and OGC
* Advising on legal developments impacting University policies and practices, particularly relating to research and commercialization
With your expertise in Intellectual Property, Research and Commercial Law, you will drive strategic initiatives and collaborate effectively with senior lawyers and stakeholders to deliver value-added outcomes.
