Your new role
This role is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the in-house sewing room while upholding the company's standards for quality craftsmanship and timely delivery. As Sewing Room Supervisor, you will lead a small team of three to four staff, coordinating workloads, prioritising jobs and ensuring production schedules align with installation and client commitments. Drawing on your sewing background, you will provide technical guidance on fabrics, cutting, pleating and wave finishes, while maintaining strong quality control across all finished products. The role plays a critical part in the customer experience by ensuring every item leaving the sewing room meets exact specifications and presentation standards. Working closely with sales, installation and operations teams, this position supports the company's broader goals through efficient production, clear communication and a collaborative, quality-focused approach.
What you'll need to succeed
* Previous experience in a sewing or soft furnishings production environment
* Strong understanding of fabrics, cutting techniques, pleating and wave finishes
* Proven ability to supervise and support a small production team
* High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality control and finish standards
* Clear and confident communication skills with both production staff and management
* Good numeracy skills for measuring, job tracking and material accuracy
* Ability to plan, prioritise and manage daily workloads to meet deadlines
* Hands-on approach with the willingness to lead from the floor when required
* Strong organisational skills to keep production running efficiently and on schedule
