POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position develops high risk contracts for goods, services and works, including information and communications technology and community services. In consultation with internal and external stakeholders, provides specialist advice on procurement and contract governance, aligned to the agency's procurement delegation schedules.

SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE

Dependant on local level business needs, it may be a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to become an Australian Citizen prior to appointment.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Please ensure you complete, sign and scan the Integrity Check Consent Form (refer attached) and submit it along with your application (the Integrity Check Consent Form is not required for current WA Police Force employees).

Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter outlining your experience as it relates to the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages:

* Procurement and Contract governance skills - Undertaking high risk contract development. Working within a complex contracts and procurement environment. Managing and mentoring team members.
* Research, analytical and conceptual skills - Conceptualising solutions and making recommendations. Participating in developing procurement policies, standards and process improvements.
* Knowledge of Government Procurement policies, issues and strategic directions - Understanding procurement policies, procedures and legislation including the Procurement Act 2020 and WA Procurement Rules.

Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant's ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

OTHER CONDITIONS

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.

Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
