About My Gateway
My Gateway has been in operation for over 40 years and is a not-for-profit Group Training Organisation that employs over 200 trainees and apprentices for placement with host employers in a variety of qualifications. We assist all people in gaining employment with industry recognised credentials. Payroll is valued as an integral part of our customer and employee experience and similar to labour hire we operate a pay and invoice system.

About the role
* Managing the payroll function and ensuring a positive experience for host employers, apprentices and trainee.
* Providing timely reports to the Management Team.
* Processing weekly payroll and supporting the invoicing function.
* Responsible for the interpretation and application of a range of industrial instruments (Awards and EBAs) which govern apprentices, trainees, labour hire and staff employment conditions.
* Writing and implementation of new pay rule groups in payroll system.
* Ensure accurate calculation of and processing rate changes for apprentices/trainees.
* Development and preparation of annual FBT.
* Providing guidance on compliance issues including superannuation, PAYG, FBT and tax.
* Ensuring controls are in place to meet audit requirements.
* Year-end processing and STP.
* Assist in the preparation of reconciliation reports and backing papers for external audit and liaise with auditors as required.
* Others as directed by Corporate Services Manager and CEO.
Your Background
* Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. Business, Payroll.
* Have a positive attitude and be a great team player.
* Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to interact with host employers, apprentices and trainees.
* At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
* Astute and/or WorkForce experience isn't essential however, it would be a distinct advantage.
* Ability to prioritise and organise to meet all deadlines.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
