We're looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join our team at BioMar Australia.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be keeping our plant running safely and reliably. If you're the type who takes pride in fixing things properly—not just getting them going again—you'll fit in well here.
If you're also a dual trade (Mechanical + Electrical), that's a big plus—but not a dealbreaker.
About The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead, you'll be part of a shift-based maintenance team supporting operations across the whole site.
You'll be working on a mix of equipment—conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics and general plant—keeping everything running as it should.
No two days are the same. Some days it's planned maintenance, other days it's troubleshooting and getting things back online quickly.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
* Responding to breakdowns and faults
* Diagnosing issues and fixing them properly (not just patch jobs)
* Supporting shutdowns and improvement work
* Working closely with production and operations teams
* Keeping clear records in the maintenance system
* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
* Supporting and mentoring others in the team where needed
What You'll Bring
* Trade qualification as a Fitter / Mechanical Tradesperson
* Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Good understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics
* Ability to work shift work and manage priorities on the go
* A strong focus on safety and doing the job right
Nice to have
* Electrical trade qualification (dual trade)
* Experience with electrical fault finding or controls
