Position Overview
University House offers commercial hotel and ANU graduate student accommodation, and 15 diverse events spaces and hospitality venues. University House is reopening in mid‐2026 after 6.5 years closure due to the 2020 Canberra hailstorm, and a complete refurbishment to restore and upgrade its rooms and facilities. The reopening, in conjunction with the University's 80th anniversary, offers an exciting opportunity to re‐establish and grow the reputation and business of University House, and its contributions to the University.
As the Assistant Manager, Events and Sales you will report to the Department Head – Events and Sales. This position leads a small team of Event coordinators and works in close collaboration with the University House Leadership Team to develop networks across the University and Canberra communities and manage relationships with internal and external clients.
Your knowledge of current industry trends in events and sales and food and beverage offerings will allow you to develop your department into a renowned high‐quality facility capable of meeting any challenge head on.
As a member of a busy department, you will have excellent communication skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, high attention to detail and a strong understanding and application of HACCP and Workplace Health and Safety.
