About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quarry Manager for the Huntly Mining Operations. This is a permanent role on a back‐to‐back arrangement on 7 days on, 7 days off roster with the luxury of returning home from site each day.

Reporting to the Huntly Mine Manager / Site Senior Executive, this is a key leadership role in which you will play a critical role in shaping the operational delivery and contribute to the continued safe and successful operational delivery. Working closely with an experienced leadership team, you will play a hands‐on role in delivering safe, efficient outcomes in day‐to‐day mining operations. You'll collaborate to enhance safety and production with a strong focus on establishing and maintaining operational standards to continually improve mine site safety, environmental controls, cost, quality, and production efficiency. In addition to fulfilling the Quarry Manager responsibilities, you will be appointed as the Huntly Qualified Officer and fulfil the Alternate Site Senior Executive duties on weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
* Appointment as Quarry Manager and Site Senior Executive in accordance with WHS (Mine) Regulations, providing weekend coverage as the alternate SSE.
* Appointment as Qualified Officer in accordance with Dangerous Goods Safety (Explosives) Regulations 2007.
* Support and provide guidance to a multidisciplinary technical services team whilst ensuring practical integration between planning, drill and blast, load and haul, rehabilitation, maintenance and fixed plant operations.
* Support maximising optimal equipment utilisation through coaching on safe and efficient operation, proper daily inspections, and corrective action to prevent incidents.
* Support delivery of production outcomes by monitoring and identifying opportunities to optimise planning and processes to meet specifications and targets.
* Implement procedures to ensure continuous safe operations whilst achieving production goals.
* Input into shift handovers to ensure thorough reporting and planning to minimise operational impact.
* Partake in incident investigations and ensure safety and environmental incidents are reported and managed in accordance with statutory regulations.
* Undertake area inspections ensuring safe workplace conditions.
* Coach statutory supervisor teams to achieve targets whilst ensuring compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health, safety, and risk management standards.
* Responsible for the management of Safety Regulation System, MSMS and PHMP's.

What you can bring to the role:
* Unrestricted QM ticket and Site Senior Executive accreditation
* Extensive experience in open pit mining and drill and blast activities, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable though not essential)
* Demonstrated extensive experience leading successful Mining Operations and teams
* Demonstrated understanding of safety management systems and relevant WHS (Mines) legislative requirements
* An advocate for continuous improvement and skilled change leader
* Strong communication, organisational and problem‐solving skills
* Positive approach to implementation and execution of pragmatic safety management
* Collaborative leadership style with a track record in coaching and developing diverse teams to achieve their full potential, fostering an inclusive, safety‐focused work culture and delivering results through others
* Demonstrate strong organisational, time management, and communication skills (written and verbal).
* Ability to build professional relationships, effective coaching skills, work independently or as part of a team
* Maintain a strong leadership presence across operations, have quick thinking and decisive abilities, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development within the mining industry

About the Location

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world's second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa's Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa's Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia's alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia's aluminium.
