Band 8 - Salary Range $127,546 to $142,788 per annum + 12% Super + ADO

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Infrastructure Planning Lead in the City Infrastructure Planning Department, reporting to the Manager of City Infrastructure Planning. You will play a pivotal role in the planning of long-term transportation and social infrastructure to accommodate the fast-growing population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development and ongoing improvement of the long-term capital infrastructure pipeline. Ensure that the program sustainably meets the needs of the growing community and organisation.
  • Strategically plan and coordinate land acquisition activities within growth areas to support the long-term capital infrastructure pipeline.
  • Coordinate with State Government agencies and utility supply companies with regards to the provision of state infrastructure and regional transmission services, and understand service delivery impacts on Council/Developer projects.
  • Interpret and evaluate service strategy reports and other background information required to produce Council's long-term capital works pipeline.
  • Ensure effective internal and external stakeholder consultation by actively engaging relevant parties within the organisation throughout the decision-making and planning processes.
  • Oversee provision of engaging communication on Infrastructure Pipeline to Council website, Councillors and the Executive team.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, strategy, business management or a relevant discipline with substantial experience in the planning of infrastructure to service a population growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems, undertake original investigations, exercise initiative and judgement in the provision of specialist advice.
  • Strong understanding of Precinct Structure Plans, Development Control Plans/Infrastructure Contribution Plans, and other planning frameworks used in infrastructure planning.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure planning, ideally in a local government or growth-area context.
