South Regional TAFE are seeking to appoint a lecturer to deliver Fire Safety Training (short courses) across the region.
We are establishing a 11 month appointment pool for vacancies that may arise. We may offer permanent, fixed term, full time, part time or casual appointments, with the possibility of a further term and/or permanency.
Position available immediately from this pool are as follow:
50001407 - 6 months temporary, part-time (0.50FTE) appointment (with possible further term and/or permanency)
Suitable candidates will be placed in the appointment pool from which opportunities may be offered as vacancies arise. Candidates may also be considered for similar positions within South Regional TAFE as they arise during the life of the pool. If the appointment pool is exhausted prior to the pool expiry date, we reserve the right to supplement the pool through further advertising.

About the role
The lecturer’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery. In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.
Relevant Qualification and Experience
To be eligible for employment applicants must hold the following unit
* PUAFER006 Lead an Emergency Control Organisation
* CPPFES2005 Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment
* PUAFER008 Confine Small Emergencies in a facility
* PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation or equivalent
* and have a minimum of 5 years working in the area of expertise.
There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Registration Standards 2025 (2025 Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024).
Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however South Regional TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled, and have commenced training in, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.

Other Conditions and Eligibility
Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance. If this position involves contact with children, the recommended occupant will also be required to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Card.
To be eligible for appointment applicants must have a working visa (for fixed term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).
SR TAFE has a shutdown period of up to 12 working days over Christmas/New Year. Arrangements for paid leave in advance or leave without pay during the shutdown period will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
