SQL Developer

Overview
We are working with a very exciting Financial Services client, where an opportunity has opened for an experienced SQL Developer to join a fast‐paced technology team, supporting and enhancing a suite of existing applications. This role combines hands‐on development with production support, requiring someone who can confidently work across both project delivery and BAU environments.
You'll play a key role in maintaining data integrity, improving system performance, and delivering reliable solutions that support business‐critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, enhance, and maintain SQL-based solutions within existing systems
* Write efficient, scalable T‐SQL code including stored procedures, functions, and complex queries
* Perform detailed testing, validation, and data reconciliation to ensure accuracy and quality
* Investigate and resolve production issues, supporting ongoing BAU activities
* Collaborate with delivery leads, business analysts, developers, and QA teams to deliver outcomes
* Contribute to Agile ceremonies and actively support continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure all development aligns with established standards, processes, and best practices
* Take ownership of tasks from design through to delivery, ensuring deadlines are met
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a SQL Developer in enterprise environments (typically 5+ years)
* Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including advanced T‐SQL development
* Hands‐on experience with database objects such as stored procedures, views, and functions
* Exposure to the Microsoft BI stack, particularly SSIS and SSRS
* Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern source control practices
* Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and tools such as Jira and Confluence
* Scripting experience using PowerShell and/or development exposure to C# is highly regarded
