We are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Diesel Mechanic to supervise and mentor a small team of 3 Filipino mechanics, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality field service and workshop repairs while maintaining strong safety and workmanship standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate workshop and field service operations
* Hydraulic hose manufacturing and repairs
* Engine rebuilds and overhauls
* Electrical diagnostics using G-Scan, Jaltest, and CAT ET software
* Generator servicing and repairs
* Road train maintenance and repairs
* Air-conditioning diagnostics and repairs
* Basic machining and fabrication work
* Small engine servicing and repairs
* Remote field service and labour hire support
What we're looking for
* Proven leadership ability with the confidence to supervise, mentor, and motivate a small team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build a positive and productive work environment
* Highly organised, hands‐on, and solutions-driven
* Able to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure
* Comfortable operating in remote and fast‐paced environments
* Resourceful and adaptable, with the ability to solve complex mechanical problems with limited resources
* A practical thinker with a strong work ethic and a genuine "can‐do" attitude
* Committed to delivering high‐quality workmanship while maintaining strict safety standards
* Takes ownership, shows initiative, and leads by example
* Experience with the following will be advantageous: Ford, Toyota, John Deere, Komatsu, Mack, CAT, Kubota, ABLE sales, Kawasaki, Kenworth and Dresser
