About the opportunity
We're launching a new Data Products functions within our Data & AI portfolio and are looking for a Data Modeller to help us enhance and build our data products from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of data at Bendigo Bank, whilst working in our in-house team and alongside world-class talent from our consultancy partners. If you have a knack for stakeholder communication and can translate complex data into business value then this role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact. There are two newly created permanent full-time roles available.

In this role you'll get to…
* Help build our Data Products function from the ground up, ensuring we are delivering trusted, governed and re-useable Data Products for enterprise use cases.
* Designing and delivering fully documented conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
* Collaborating with business units and stakeholders to translate their requirements into effective data solutions.
* Acting as a trusted advisor and advocate for the Data & AI teams, communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Ensuring strong governance and standards are applied to all data modelling activities, contributing to the ongoing development and maturity of these standards.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, from Data Engineers to Report Developers to Principal Engineers.
What you'll bring to the role
To be successful in the role you will have:
* Advanced experience in data modelling across reporting, analytics, and operational solutions, with a strong track record of enterprise-scale delivery.
* Demonstrated expertise in Data Vault 2.0, Dimensional, and 3NF modelling.
* Experience with cloud data platforms like BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse, as well as with traditional RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server)
* Excellent SQL skills, and the ability to work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
* Experience with modern data technologies such as dbt, and with CI/CD tooling (e.g., Gitlab, Terraform).
* Previous experience in Banking or other regulated industries
* Excellent written and verbal communication, with proven experience in building relationships and managing stakeholder expectations.
