Traveling Regional Nurse
We are seeking a registered nurse to support our donors through their donation process while working collaboratively to achieve collection targets in regional Victoria.
The role involves traveling to different regional locations, building strong connections with local communities and providing clinical oversight and guidance to other team members in the blood collection process.
1. Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate.
2. Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests.
3. Set up machines, tubing and collection bags.
4. Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma and platelets.
5. Provide instructions and physical assistance to manage adverse donor reactions.
6. Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation.
To be successful in this role, you will require a valid Australian driver's license with no restrictions, flexibility to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster and the ability to occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs and frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products.
