About the Role
As a Plant Mechanic, you will:
* Inspect, maintain, and repair Council's vehicles, plant, and equipment
* Diagnose faults and perform cost-effective repairs
* Undertake maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure
* Apply trade skills in hydraulics, welding, air-conditioning, and more
* Conduct roadworthy inspections and ensure compliance with TfNSW regulations
* Maintain accurate records and support workshop operations
What You'll Need
Essential:
* Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle/Mobile Plant Technology or Light Vehicle Technology with ability to upgrade
* Class C Driver's Licence
* Safe Work NSW WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
* Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills
* Ability to interpret technical documents and calculate material requirements
Desirable:
* Class HR Driver's Licence
* TfNSW Authorised Inspection Station Examiner's Certificate
* Licences or experience in:
* Automotive electrical and air-conditioning systems
* Fuel injection and hydraulics
* Welding and fabrication
* Forklift operation
