About The Role
We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our supportive team at SWHC. You will be the welcoming face and voice of Apex Radiology — supporting patients, referrers, and our clinical teams with high-quality service and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome patients and manage front-desk responsibilities in a professional and empathetic mannerAnswer telephone enquiries and respond efficiently and sensitively to patient needsSchedule patient appointments and determine examination requirementsCommunicate preparation instructions, procedure costs, and billing information clearly to patientsRegister patients, manage paperwork, and handle billing and EFTPOS transactionsEnsure timely and accurate dispatch of reportsPerform Medicare and Veterans Affairs claims batchingSupport other administrative tasks as directed by management
About You
Familiarity with patient booking and entry systems preferred but not required (RIS experience highly regarded)Strong knowledge of medical terminology would be preferable but not requiredHigh level of professionalism, empathy, and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving abilitiesAccuracy in data entry and confident use of Microsoft Office and practice softwareCash handling and EFTPOS experienceAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamWillingness to work across multiple sites if required
