About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Agriculture Teacher to become a valuable addition to our remarkable team at James Sheahan Catholic High School in Orange, NSW. The teacher in a Secondary Catholic School is someone who can collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs relevant to the Agricultural Education curriculum while creating a nurturing and orderly learning environment for their students.
* Creating a learner‑centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.
* Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.
* Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapting practices for equitable education.
* Analyzing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.
* Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.
* Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contributing to school life.
* Providing student supervision and assisting in organising extracurricular activities.
About You (selection Criteria)
* A commitment to Catholic education and a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic Schools.
* Ability to integrate technology effectively to maximise student outcomes and engagement.
* Ability to work and teach as part of a professional learning team.
* Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of effort, engagement and excellence through the development of a positive, supportive student environment and related structures.
* Qualifications to teach Agriculture and Science courses, and qualifications or willingness to obtain qualifications in VET Primary Industries.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to build positive relationships and promote positive education.
