Marine Engineer Traineeship Opportunity
This traineeship provides a structured pathway towards achieving your AMSA Engineer Class 3 NC Certificate of Competency, allowing you to earn while you learn and gain valuable sea experience in a dynamic environment.
To be eligible for this program, applicants must hold an AMSA workshop-equivalent trade qualification or an AMSA Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 NC (MED 1) ticket, along with hands-on experience working onboard in an MED 1 capacity. The selected candidate will be enrolled in the Diploma of Marine Operations (Marine Engineering Class 3 Near Coastal) course at the Australian Maritime College (AMC), with fully funded tuition, travel, and accommodation provided.
The trainee will have the opportunity to work with experienced engineers, gain practical sea time, and receive ongoing guidance throughout the certification process. This is a 12-month full-time traineeship, commencing in February ****, and requires the applicant to be willing to travel to Launceston, TAS, to complete their AMC course requirements and AMSA oral examinations over a period of approximately 13 weeks.
