About the Role
We are a high performing Small Business Banking team at CBA, focused on becoming the #1 Business Bank. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Business Banker to join our Glendale branch (Newcastle area).
As part of a high‐performing team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to small business customers by understanding their goals and supporting them through the fulfillment of their financial needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving business development within the local Newcastle and surrounding business community, while also strengthening existing client relationships through premium service delivery.
What you will do
* Lead meaningful customer conversations to uncover goals and needs, and provide timely, tailored financial solutions. This includes originating products such as commercial lending up to $1.25 M, asset finance, merchant facilities, and everyday banking solutions.
* Proactively engage customers to support both their business and personal aspirations, preparing for conversations with valuable insights. You will also be familiar with home ownership solutions available to business customers.
* Act as a brand ambassador in the local business community, promoting CBA's business banking proposition. You may also host small business education events to support financial well‐being.
* Attend key stakeholder meetings regularly to raise awareness of Small Business Banking services, build referral partnerships, and address service challenges collaboratively.
Requirements
* Experience in commercial lending or B2B sales.
* Home lending exposure.
* Strong financial analysis skills and commercial acumen.
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proven ability to engage customers both face‐to‐face and remotely.
* Experience managing a pipeline of opportunities and facilitating proactive customer contact.
* Passion for small business customers or direct experience running a small business.
* FSRA Tier 2 Accreditation.
* Credit Approval Authority (CAA) Level 2, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
* Formal training to support home lending discussions, such as Cert IV in Banking Services (preferred).
