Drug and Alcohol Clinician - Support Recovery and Wellness in Our Community

In Queanbeyan, our Drug and Alcohol Clinicians provide compassionate, evidence-based care to support recovery, reduce harm, and promote wellbeing in a rural setting. What You’ll Be Doing
The Drug and Alcohol Clinician provides evidence based clinical services to individuals of all ages referred to the service with issues related to substance misuse and/or dependency.
Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based clinical services to individuals with substance misuse and/or dependency.
- Collaborate with clients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored interventions that support recovery and wellbeing.
- Develop collaborative, person-centred care plans using knowledge of drugs, their effects, and relevant interventions.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Occupational Therapists and Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers.
- Demonstrated understanding of and skills in evidence based interventions for substance use and dependence, with knowledge of the classes of drugs, their effects and relevant interventions; ability to develop team-oriented, person-centred care plans.
- Understanding of the broad health and social impact of substance abuse and dependence; commitment to harm minimisation when intervening to support consumers.
- High level communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, families and carers, and high computer literacy.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence and ability to drive/travel as required (may involve long distances).

- Position Classification: Dependent on qualifications
- Remuneration: Occupational Therapist Lvl 1/2: $37.03 to $52.83 per hour; Psychologist: $39.01 to $57.10 per hour; Registered Nurse: $36.39 to $51.09 per hour; Social Worker Lvl 1/2: $37.03 to $52.83 per hour
