About the opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and working closely with the CEO and leadership team, the People & Capability Manager leads the organisation's people function, workforce strategy and capability agenda.
The role is responsible for strengthening workforce capability, engagement, retention and organisational performance, ensuring the business has the people, leadership capability and workforce planning strategies required to support sustainable growth.
Leading the People & Capability team, the role partners with leaders across the business to build a high‐performing, engaged and values‐driven workforce.
Key areas of focus
* Developing and implementing workforce planning initiatives that support current and future operational requirements.
* Driving employee engagement, retention and workforce stability across multiple sites and contracts.
* Leading, coaching and developing the People & Capability team to deliver high‐quality people services, build specialist capability and support organisational objectives.
* Leading learning and development, succession planning and organisational development initiatives that strengthen workforce capability and support future business needs.
* Partnering with leaders to build high‐performing teams and effective people management practices.
* Using workforce insights and data to support informed decision‐making and continuous improvement.
* Leading change initiatives that support organisational growth and operational excellence.
* Providing expert advice on employee and industrial relations matters.
* Overseeing recruitment, mobilisation, onboarding and workforce compliance activities.
* Managing workers compensation, injury management and return‐to‐work programs.
* Strengthening people systems, governance and operational effectiveness.
About you
You are an experienced People & Culture leader who thrives on partnering with operational leaders to solve workforce challenges and create environments where people can perform at their best.
Combining strategic thinking, with a practical and hands‐on approach, you bring strong commercial awareness, sound judgement and the ability to influence outcomes across all levels of an organisation.
You are a collaborative and authentic leader who enjoys solving complex workforce challenges, supporting leaders and creating environments where people can thrive.
Qualifications
* Significant experience leading a People & Culture function within a multi‐site or operational environment.
* Demonstrated success developing workforce planning, engagement and retention initiatives.
* Experience using workforce metrics and people data to support strategic decision‐making.
* Strong employee and industrial relations expertise, including performance management and workplace investigations.
* Experience partnering with leaders to strengthen organisational performance and people leadership practices.
* Current knowledge of and experience in workers compensation, injury management and return‐to‐work processes.
* Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor and develop teams.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
