Can you walk into a room full of young people, break the ice in seconds, and leave them a little braver than when they walked in?
The hook
Zero2hero is on a mission to turn young West Aussies into mental health heroes – the kind of humans who look out for themselves and their mates and aren't afraid to speak up when things get tough.
If you love a mic, care deeply about youth mental health, and get a buzz from real impact (not just "ticking boxes"), this might be your next gig.
The vibe
* You light up in front of a crowd – whether it is a tight circle of year 6s or a gym of 300 teenagers.
* You can ride the wave: high energy when it is time to play, calm and grounded when the convo gets real about stress, anxiety, and suicide prevention.
* You genuinely get young people – you listen, you don't preach, and you can turn "awkward" into "safe" pretty quickly.
Teacher, youth worker, performer, psychologist-in-training, lived experience legend – if you can hold space and keep it engaging, you are our kind of human.
What you will actually do
* Bring zero2hero's programs to life in schools and at our camps and clinics across Perth (and the occasional regional adventure), using stories, activities and real-world tools that stick.
* Switch gears between primary and high school groups, adapting language, pace and activities so every young person feels seen.
* Leave students with practical strategies they can use the moment you leave the room – for themselves and their friends.
* Flex your admin muscle ensuring evaluations, feedback and other program administration requirements are met to keep program delivery top notch.
What matters most
* Serious skills in public speaking, performance or facilitation – you are comfortable running a room and reading the energy.
* A values set wired for empathy, inclusion and non-judgmental, strengths-based language around mental health and suicide prevention.
* The basics covered: Working With Children Check, Police Check, driver's licence and your own wheels; Mental Health First Aid or safeTALK is a bonus – or we will help you get there.
Why this will light you up
* Work that feels meaningful every single day, with young people who will surprise you, challenge you and make you laugh.
* Permanent part-time hours that actually support your life outside work – side projects, study, family, footy, you name it.
* Not-for-profit salary sacrificing benefits that increase your take home pay.
* A passionate, slightly quirky crew at zero2hero who care about doing good work, having fun, and getting the tone just right.
*Shortlisting for this position will commence Monday 12th Jan, and interviews will commence from Monday 19th Jan 2026.
