Job Overview
This role offers the opportunity to work in the remoteness of the Pilbara region, providing emergency medical care on location and in air for high‐acuity cases with long retrieval times. You will work from bases in Port Hedland, Broome, Kalgoorlie, and other locations, delivering tertiary health‐care services to communities that rely on air‐retrieval and regional support.
Opportunities Available
* Port Hedland – full‐time residential or FIFO from Perth (0.5 FTE)
* Broome – full‐time or part‐time residential
* Kalgoorlie – full‐time opportunity from 2027
Responsibilities
* Provide emergency medical care to critically ill and injured patients in remote settings.
* Perform procedural skills relevant to critical‐care medicine.
* Manage patients in high‐acuity cases during long retrieval times.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient care on location and in flight.
* Maintain clinical documentation and comply with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
* Registered medical practitioner with AHPRA or ability to register.
* Minimum 5 years of postgraduate experience.
* Significant experience in emergency medicine, anaesthesia, and acute paediatrics.
* Ability to independently manage critically ill patients.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Availability for a minimum of 12 months.
* Australian resident or completion of studies in the UK, Ireland, US, Canada, or New Zealand.
* Relevant specialty qualifications (ACEM, ANZCA, CICM, FACRRM, FRACGP) or experienced career medical officers.
* Experience in regional or remote medical practice.
