As a Disability Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate and person-centered care to individuals living with a range of physical and intellectual disabilities.
Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, personal care, mobility support, and fostering independence, while encouraging social inclusion and community participation.
Some of the Key Responsibilities include:
* Assist with personal care, daily routines, and household tasks
* Support clients to access the community, work, and social activities
* Encourage independence and empower individuals to achieve their goals
* Create a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment
About you:
* Experience in disability support or a similar care role (desirable but not essential)
* Ability to work and adapt in an environment where no two days are the same.
* Compassionate, patient, and respectful in your approach to care
* Flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
* Great people skills, excellent written communication, and strong time management skills.
The successful applicant/s will require the following Qualifications and Experience:
* Cert IV or higher in Youth Work, Disability Support, Community Services or a related field (Completed Qualification or Currently Enrolled)
* Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
* Current NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card)
* Valid LSC2 check
* Unrestricted QLD Driver’s Licence
* A road worthy to vehicle to transport clients
* Comprehensive Car Insurance
* Current First Aid & CPR
* Experience supporting young people with complex trauma (Highly regarded)
* Skills in case planning, behaviour support, and report writing (Desirable)
* Cultural knowledge and/or lived experience that supports an inclusive and culturally responsive approach to working with young people
