PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The successful candidate will be dual traded to a certificate III line worker over a period of two years whilst working out of the
Katherine Depot. Upon completion the candidate will be responsible for undertaking installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair
activities on network systems throughout the Northern Territory as required, consistent with business, safety, and best work practices
in supporting the achievement of business objectives and will be required to perform Electrical Lines work consistent with trade
qualification and will be required to work overtime and afterhours faults call on a roster basis as reasonably required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
- Participate in interstate and local training activities to meet organisational and legislative requirements.
- Undertake construction, inspection, repair and maintenance activities of electrical distribution and transmission assets.
- Utilise and participate in business systems supporting maintenance, procurement, customer service and network performance.
- Participate in system operational work including field switching.
- Communicate effectively with workmates, supervisors and the general public and establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to undertake works in regions outside Katherine as may be reasonably required and directed.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualification, Skills and Requirements Experience
Essential • An AQF Certificate III Electrician qualification • Detailed working knowledge of AS/NZ3000 Wiring
- Current NT Electrical Workers licence Rules.
• Current C class drivers’ licence. • Ability to interpret complex electrical drawings
- Demonstrate leadership qualities in the workplace and mark up corrections and modifications.
• Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills • Experience working within a team environment
• Ability to travel interstate to attend trade school to • Demonstrable safe working practices

Desirable • Trade qualifications/authorisation as a Cable Jointer (XLPE) • Leading and delivering projects.
• Current NT MR/HR/HC/HR class driver licence • Experience in leading field teams.

3. The total remuneration package amounts published for this position include base salary, superannuation and annual leave
