This large‐scale Kimberley cattle station combines modern infrastructure with a strong team‐focused culture where every employee plays an important role in day‐to‐day operations. Operating across more than 650,000 acres in the West Kimberley, the business manages a substantial cattle enterprise together with irrigated farming operations. Within reach of Broome, the station offers a genuine outback lifestyle supported by established facilities, experienced leadership and a well‐equipped workshop environment.
Reporting directly to the Station Manager, this position will suit someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys working independently and takes pride in maintaining essential station infrastructure. The role is ideal for a practical, hands‐on person looking for variety across both workshop and field‐based work. This is a key operational role responsible for maintaining the station's extensive water network, including approximately 40 bores, tanks, troughs and associated infrastructure, while also overseeing servicing and repairs of station vehicles, machinery and plant equipment. An immediate start is available or by negotiation for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
* Conduct bore runs and maintain station water infrastructure including tanks, troughs, pipelines, pumps and generators.
* Manage servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs across station vehicles, plant and machinery.
* Maintain a safe, organised and efficient workshop including spare parts inventory and equipment upkeep.
* Monitor livestock welfare during bore runs and assist with general station maintenance including fencing and infrastructure repairs.
Selection Criteria:
* Trade qualified mechanic preferred or strong mechanical experience within agricultural, station or similar environments.
* Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and problem‐solve in remote conditions.
* Strong understanding of motors, pumps, station equipment and preventative maintenance practices.
* Current driver's licence required; HR licence, motorbike skills and previous station experience advantageous.
