As the Infrastructure Specialist - Identity & M365 Administrator you will work as a member of a team that provides system support, administration and technical leadership of Epworth IT's Microsoft M365 environment and identity platform.
This primarily includes Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Copilot, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) and Active Directory; ensuring that Epworth lifecycle around access to systems and platforms is managed and maintained appropriately. Working within the team to support access to Epworth's traditional on‐premises systems and identity platform components (Active Directory, Group Policy), this role is to be an advocate for automation, the development of strong M365 Governance and management practices within the organisation and to support and improve Epworth's user onboarding and off‐boarding processes (RBAC, automation) which is used to provide access Epworth's cloud environment(s), connected SaaS platforms and on‐premises systems.
As a core part of this role, Identity includes Microsoft's Cloud environment, our data platform (GCP) and supporting our hospital's digital transformation and digitisation efforts across data, applications, and artificial intelligence. While focused on support around our M365 estate (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and critically Entra ID), the growing portfolio of platform‐as‐a‐service and innovative technology areas rapidly being onboarded is also a service deliverable of this role, to help meet Epworth's digital objectives.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
* Providing technical leadership in the support and administration of the organisation's Microsoft M365 environment (including Exchange Hybrid environment) and on‐premises identity system (Active Directory).
* Continually improving the automation, security and system management of those platform(s) and the software and tools used to run and maintain them.
* Managing the M365 environment to maintain agreed financial and performance targets.
* Actively contributing to continuous improvement of work, standards, and methodologies.
* Providing technical coaching and mentorship to team members to uplift their cloud skills.
* Conducting periodic monitoring, review of Cloud performance, and recommend proactive measures as appropriate.
* Microsoft Administrator Expert certification or equivalent experience.
* Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent experience.
* Microsoft Exchange certification or equivalent experience.
* Experience in supporting Microsoft M365 environment.
* Experience in supporting and managing Active Directory hybrid environments (Entra ID / Azure Active Directory) - 3+ years.
* Experience in supporting Exchange Hybrid (Online & On‐Premises) environments - 3+ years.
* Expertise in Microsoft M365, Active Directory / Microsoft Server, Exchange Hybrid deployments and PowerShell scripting.
* Familiarity in Copilot.
* Displays initiative, motivation and self confidence.
* Ability to develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
