What You'll Be Doing

To provide emergency medical care to patients while developing experience and expertise under the supervision of Emergency Specialists within ISLHD. This is a Wollongong Hospital based position.

The position of Unaccredited Trainee would suit a junior doctor of at least 2 years post graduate experience who wishes to gain clinical experience and training in Emergency Medicine prior to formal critical care training. The Unaccredited Trainee will participate in a seven-day per week roster which includes evening and night shifts and will demonstrate proficiency in the initial assessment and management of all medical and surgical emergencies in paediatric and adult patients.

MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of AustraliaMinimum two years post graduate experienceSignificant experience in an Australian Emergency Department or equivalentDemonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamEffective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated good organisational and time management skillsEvidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-educationAbility and willingness to work at the facilities within the District to deliver patient care and preparedness and ability to participate in a 7 day per week / 24 hours per day shift work rosterDemonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
