Regional Sales Manager - USA, Northwest Region
Full-Time - This position requires travel on a regular basis - typically 65% to 75%
Basic Function
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible to profitably grow consumer and commercial tire sales (units and dollars) within a defined region through retail and commercial tire dealers and value-added tire wholesalers. Retail and Commercial Tire Dealers: Build upon and improve sales & relationships with existing tire dealers and add new, quality volume tire dealers within GITI Tire USA’s Distribution Strategy.
Value-Added Tire Wholesalers: Build upon and improve sales & relationships with existing value-added tire wholesalers and add new, quality volume value-added tire wholesalers within GITI Tire USA’s Distribution Strategy. This position requires a certain level of TBR sales activity, both individually and with the Commercial Tire Sales Team, as defined by the Director of Sales.
To perform this job successfully, this individual must have a positive attitude, be trustworthy, be very well organized, and be familiar with various sales concepts, practices, and procedures. This position relies on successfully proven experience and thoughtful judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
The qualified individual is expected to perform a variety of sales & business tasks. He/she may be required to lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and accountability is expected.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consistently increase sales & profit by adding new, quality volume consumer and commercial tire accounts, and maximize sales with existing accounts through responsible account management and by adding new SKUs.
- Develop, maintain and grow strong relationships with dealer principals and personnel.
- Develop and implement regional business & marketing plans, including a list of targeted new accounts, to increase consumer and commercial tire sales and improve GITI Tire’s market share.
- Maintain & improve familiarity with all key retail, commercial and wholesale tire dealers (existing and prospective) in the respective region and keep GITI management updated accordingly.
- Support the efforts and initiatives of the GITI Tire sales team, and to work with & support our internal teams.
- Assist value-added wholesalers on field sales calls with the wholesaler’s sales personnel and assist with their GITI Associate Dealers.
- Assist commercial dealers on fleet sales calls with the dealer’s sales personnel.
- Asist tire retailers with proper training and implementation of sales program & promotions through headquarter & regional sales presentations, and visits to individual retail and commercial locations.
- Provide all dealers with training, knowledge and skills to effectively sell & promote GITI Tire products.
- Positively respond to customer & consumer inquiries in a prompt, correct and efficient manner.
- Provide current, competitive pricing & product information to GITI management in a timely fashion.
- Utilize sales reports and data with existing customers with the purpose of improving sales.
- Submit accurate weekly sales activity reports and expense reports in a timely fashion, as defined by the Director of Sales.
- Effectively present product launch information and materials (both face-to-face presentations and via email).
- Prepare Sales, Marketing and Distribution needs analysis.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of GITI Tire’s complete product line.
- Forecast sales of product for each customer, by SKU.
- Responsibly manage GITI Tire’s corporate resources.
- Ability to function as a self-starter with considerable bias for action.
- Able to properly prioritize opportunities, then plan and schedule activities for maximum results.
- Ability to recognize, isolate and solve problems that improve overall customer satisfaction.
- Knowledgeable of the competition and what products and services they offer.
- Other duties as required.
Education / Training
- Bachelor's Degree in business, management, marketing and/or comparable sales experience in the tire industry/related area and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.
Experience
- Require 4 to 5 years previous field sales and/or sales management experience
- Basic tire sales and/or vehicle maintenance experience preferred
