School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Full-time, permanent position Base salary will be in the range $117,120.53 - $138,769.70 17% super (Academic Level B) Based at our St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is seeking to appoint an ambitious and inquisitive Lecturer to contribute to world-class teaching and research across electrical engineering and biomedical engineering disciplines. Working within a highly collaborative academic environment, you will play a key role in educating future engineers, advancing impactful research, and strengthening the School’s engagement with industry and global research partners. Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Contribute to the teaching program covered by the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. In particular, the willingness and capability to teach into one or more areas of the electrical engineering curriculum: Introductory programming for engineering students Intermediate systems programming Embedded and digital systems at the introductory, intermediate and advanced undergraduate level Electrical engineering team projects and engineering professional practice at the introductory or intermediate level Electrical Engineering individual capstone projects and engineering professional practice at the senior undergraduate and postgraduate levels Research: Establish and grow an independent and/or collaborative research program aligned with the School’s strategic strengths in Imaging, Sensing and Biomedical Engineering. Publish in high-quality peer‑reviewed outlets and lead competitive external research funding applications. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About You You will bring a strong academic foundation and a commitment to excellence across teaching, research and service, along with: A PhD in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering or a closely related field. A demonstrated record of high-quality research outputs in biomedical or electrical engineering. Demonstrated capability or potential to attract competitive research funding. Evidence of effective teaching contributions at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Experience or capability in course coordination and contemporary curriculum development. A growing record of supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students. Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with proven ability to successfully lead a research team.
