Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer UGLRL and indirectly to the Head of Commercial UGL Transport, the Senior Commercial Manager is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at Regional Linx with responsibilities including client commercial and contract matters, subcontractor commercial and contract matters, procurement activities, third party works management and the management of the property portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesTo provide the Chief Executive Officer with assistance in organising and directing UGL's internal and external legal advice to protect UGLRL's interests from a legal perspective.Identifying, managing and reporting risk and opportunities across the CRN.Heavy involvement in negotiating, drafting, and settling operational and downstream subcontracts ranging from complex heavy engineering and infrastructure projects to small operation, maintenance or construction projects, leases, joint venture proposals and other commercial arrangements in order to safeguard UGLRL's interests.Attend and drive tender, contract execution (including UGLRL internal governance), contract management and dispute resolution discussions and negotiations between UGLRL and customers/suppliers as required.Review of all terms and conditions that are not UGLRL contract templates.Report on legal risks of tenders as required by the Chief Executive Officer.Provide Commercial training to operational staff as required.Assist in preparing upstream and downstream draft legal and commercial correspondence.Manage external legal providers to ensure value for money and targeted advice.Ensure compliance with the requirements and deliverables of the CRN O&M Deed.Ensuring UGL Commercial and Legal procedures are followed.Maintain the legal and contractual records of UGLRL.Ensure appropriate commercial project reporting is in place (budget, earned value and forecast cost to complete).
Ensure that UGLRL is in good standing and fulfils its obligations pursuant to the Corporations Law and other areas regulating the conduct of corporations, including all CIMIC policies.QualificationsDegree qualified in either Commerce, Law, and/or Construction Management, or QS.Substantial experience and expertise in engineering, infrastructure and construction contracts and operation and maintenance contracts.Strong understanding and experience in the commercial and legal requirements of the contract process.Comprehensive understanding of the general and special conditions of contracts.Proven ability to develop contracts to reduce the risk to the Company.Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, and construction environment.Knowledge of contract law, insurances, and relevant legislation.About UsUGL is renowned for providing comprehensive engineering, construction, and maintenance services across various sectors, including rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables, water, and defense.
